About Us

            LEADERSHIP

Ellsworth Area Ambulance Service is governed by an Operating Committee representing each municipality in our service area.

The Operating Committee Members consist of elected officials from the seven towns and Village of Ellsworth. The Members are actively involved in governing the ambulance service. The knowledge and experience of these Members is extensive.

Staff are represented through the selection of

officers.

            CAPABILITIES

EAAS provides a wide variety of emergency medical services including first response, advanced and basic level pre-hospital medicine and inter-facility transfers of sick and injured patients between hospitals as requested.

Primary ambulances are staffed with scheduled Paramedics, and Paid on Call staff. Additional resources are provided as needed using back-up scheduling and staff.

Staff maintain Wisconsin EMS licensure for the appropriate individual level of training along with National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification. The teams of Paid on Call and paid full-time professionals are dedicated to providing high quality pre-hospital emergency medical care to the communities in which they live and serve.

            PAID ON CALL

Strategic planning sessions have highlighted the importance of Paid on Call staff for EAAS. Often referred to the “backbone” of the service, the Paid on Call staff of EAAS average 8.5 years of experience with EAAS alone.

Focus on recruitment and retention through recognition, education, and other programs has proven to be a successful strategy in developing a core group of dedicated individuals. Strong leadership is also recognized as an integral component in developing an engaged department staff.
